His groundbreaking human research studies in addiction and obesity focus on using brain scan imaging, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). He is currently studying the effect of cognitive inhibition during food stimulation on the brain of obesity subjects and the changes in brain dopamine activity in response to food stimulation in obese subjects with binge-eating disorder.
